Junior Board Application Mentor Program Application

JUNIOR BOARD & MENTOR PROGRAM

The SoBa Cares Junior Program is at the heart of our mission empowering students to lead, serve, and make a meaningful impact.

Our program brings together Junior Board Members and Mentors who work collaboratively to plan and lead fundraising events, organize volunteer initiatives for kids throughout our community, and support local youth-focused organizations. Through hands-on service, our students develop leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and a lifelong commitment to giving back.

At its core, the Junior Program represents what SoBa Cares is all about: Kids Helping Kids, building community, and empowering young people to lead with heart.

We are excited to begin our 3rd term and welcome the next generation of young leaders to SoBa Cares.

Applications for Junior Board and Mentor positions open September 19th 2026.

SoBa Cares Volunteer Corps

Introducing the SoBa Cares Volunteer Corps, a unique program designed for students in grades 6–8.

Built around our mission of Kids Helping Kids, the Volunteer Corps gives middle school students meaningful, age-appropriate opportunities to give back and make a difference in the lives of other children. Through hands-on service projects and community initiatives, members will learn the importance of compassion, responsibility, teamwork, and leading with heart.

The program will be led by our Volunteer Corps Directors, Neera Patel, Ronika Goyal, and Navjeet Hansra Basran, who will guide our students as they serve together and grow into the next generation of young leaders.

Applications open September 19th.

Our inaugural Volunteer Corps is limited to 20 students in grades 6–8. Spots will be offered to the first 20 applicants who meet the program requirements, which will be discussed during a brief interview.

We can’t wait to welcome our first Volunteer Corps and continue growing the spirit of Kids Helping Kids.

Hoops for Hope

Our first-ever Hoops for Hope event was a resounding success — and it’s all thanks to you.

From the energy on the courts to the generosity in the stands, our community came together in an incredible way to support SoBa Cares and our mission to empower youth through sports and service. With your support, we raised critical funds for After School Matters, helping to create opportunities for teens in our community.

Whether you played, volunteered, sponsored, donated, or cheered from the sidelines — your involvement made a difference.

We’re so proud of what we accomplished together and inspired by the spirit of “kids helping kids” that fueled this event from day one. A special shoutout to our Junior Board for leading the charge and showing us all what passionate young people can achieve.

Thank you again for being part of something so meaningful. We can’t wait to bring Hoops for Hope back even bigger next year!

AND  A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR JUNIOR BOARD AND MENTORS FOR ALL THEIR HARD WORK.

AND OF COURSE TO ALL OUR CHAMPIONS!  CONGRATULATIONS!
